<<HISTORY>>

Erik, as the eldest son of the Deas family, was raised to set an example for his younger brother, Clive. His brother was two years his junior and thus his accomplishments were always overshadowed by his own. The lack of acknowledgement from their parents led to conflict between the two at a young age. The jealousy Clive harbored towards Erik caused him to act out against him in the form of bullying.

As the two grew older, Clive grew to be larger than his brother excelling in sports which brought about his own sense of acknowledgement. Erik was constantly focused on his studies working hard to get into a good highschool, because of this he got little exercise. The conflict between the siblings came to an end as they began focusing on their own strengths.

Erik came home after being accepted into highschool to find a brand new computer awaiting him. The computer had been intended to aid him with his studies, but given all of his hard work he didn't require it for that purpose. Erik began using his free time to play online games with the new computer. He delved headfirst into Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games using them as an escape from reality. In the game world he was able to become someone stronger, someone who could defend themselves.

School became a chore as Erik pulled away from those around him prefering his online world over the real one. Those around him saw his weak stature and recluse like ways as an open invitation to pick on him and so he was bullied by the other kids until the beginning of Junior year. The thing that changed in the beginning of Junior year was the acceptance of his brother into the school. Clive seemed quick tempered when he saw one of the older students picking on his weaker brother and rushed in violently removing the agressor. Erik had been shocked by his brothers action and the response that followed. The students that bullied him seemed to keep their distance after the event knowing that they could no longer assault him without consequence.

Erik continued his playing of online games throughout his early highschool years going out of his way to apply for Beta Testing so that he could claim being one of the first to play a game when it became popular seeking to increase his online fame. He had already made a small name for himself having cornered the market in several MMORPG's. Naturally when Sword Art Online was announced with the news that it would be making use of the Nerve Gear system he knew he had to be one of the first to play it. Erik went out with his allowance and bought a Nerve Gear for the game and applied to become a Beta Tester.

Although not the best at the game, Beta Testing would prove to be a great experience as it allowed Erik to experience the Full Dive system before the officail release of the game. On the day of the official release Erik was quick to join the online community in playing the game. He did not expect what happened next when they were all transported to the plaza within the Town of Beginnings where Kayaba made his announcement. He like many players thought it a hoax and checked his menu confirming there was indeed no way to log out.

After disbelief faded, Erik began planning the best way to progress safely from this point on. He had been a Solo Player during the Beta, but perhaps that option was no longer available as one mistake could lead to death from this point on. He gathered his resolve and moved to the edge of town, he would have to find people to quest with until he was strong enough to farm safely on his own.

SWORD ARTS

Cleave One-Handed Swords

To activate this art the user holds a One-Handed Sword with their arm outstretched and the blade held down to the ground. The weapon takes on a slight white glow before being swung up and around coming from one side to the other slicing through up to three nearby enemies.

Powerful Thrust Grip Focus, One-Handed Swords, 
1 Strikes, 0 Specials, 100% Speed, 150% Power

The user grips their One-Handed Sword with both hands or Two-Handed Sword and levels it parallel to the ground as they take a step back pulling the blade away from the target. The blade begins to take a crimson glow before being thrust forward into a single enemy as the user steps forward into them.
