Logan had a fairly standard childhood. Born in America to middle-class parents, he grew up an only child. His father worked, and his mother stayed at home. He got average grades in elementary school. He got along with the other kids, with only a few exceptions. He entered middle school at the normal age.


During his teen years, Logan was caught up in martial arts. Specifically, capoeira. Logan enjoyed capoeira, and took to it strongly. Meanwhile, he continued through school at a good level. He grew in his mastery of capoeira as he matured. Eventually, when he graduated high school, he made the decision to pursue the right to teach the art.

For another fourteen years, Logan worked hard at his martial arts, supporting himself working for a department store and saving money to move somewhere else to teach. Finally, at age 32, Logan was recognized as a master and given the right to teach. He couldn't decide where to go, but he knew he didn't want to go alone. The new martial arts master started dating, falling in love with a beautiful woman who would later become his wife.

The new Mrs. McAuley and Logan were deeply in love. Logan still didn't know where he wanted to go. His wife said that she had always wanted to see Japan. Something felt right to Logan about that idea, so the new couple packed up and moved. They bought a house in Echizen, and Logan set up a studio to teach Capoeira.

The couple continued living there for twenty years. Logan taught for a modest price, and his wife worked from home so that they could have a comfortable nest egg. Though they couldn't conceive a child of their own, Logan and his wife treated his capoeira students as their own kids. On the release day of Sword Art Online, one of those students gave Logan a Nerve Gear and a copy of the game, saying that "Mestre Logan would love this game". Logan decided to give it a try, diving in alongside his student.

The two of them were out hunting together, Logan under the randomly-chosen pseudonym Lemaign, and his student under a different name that he couldn't remember for the life of him. Logan was starting to enjoy himself, when the announcement happened. Logan and his student were separated by the teleport and the crowd, and Logan couldn't find the kid. He searched the town, but turned up nothing. His only real option: clear the game. He trusted his student to take on this task, even without his Mestre right beside him. They would have to find each other and help take on the death game.

Logan moves forward and to the side, holding his right hand out away from the monster and triggering this sword art. A green glow coats his hand and Logan delivers a knife-hand attack to the target, preferably the neck.

Logan ducks forwards, his hands brushing the ground and glowing yellow as he activates the sword art. He then grabs the opponent's legs and quickly pulls while simultaneously using his shoulder to push the opponent back. This technique has a chance to knock down the opponent.
