Watt Johnson<<NAME>>Andrew “Napoleon” Browning<<AGE>>17<<GENDER>>Male<<NATIONALITY>>English
<<APPEARANCE>>
Standing in at a meagre 5’6, Andrew is hardly the most intimidating of fellows. He retains a modestly toned physique, however – in the sense that his muscles are shapely, as opposed to large. It is also worth noting that multiple parts of him are disproportionate to his diminutive stature. For example, his shoulders, despite him being a compact individual, are notably broad. Enough to make finding shirts a pain in the neck, in fact. His arms are shorter than one would expect – not by much, but enough to make it so that he would have a hard time if he attempted to take up fencing.
Andrew’s hair is a brown reminiscent of milky hot chocolate. Not dark enough to be called a normal brown, but not pale enough to be classified as pale brown. The colour is natural, and shows no signs of having been altered at any point in his past. Andrew has his hair in a style that a person would not be blamed for thinking was a bedhead – it is, in fact, not his choice. No matter what he does, his hair seems to have the power to retain its shape no matter how much he combs it, with the only way to flatten it effectively being to dunk his head in a water or hair gel.
Andrew’s eyes match his hair, in the sense that they too are brown. However, it must be noted that they are not of the same colour - instead, they are of a deeper brown. His eyes do not hold any form of significant expression, even when he tries – no piercing glare, no wistful gaze, nothing, unless his mind subconsciously makes him do it. They are, however, partially closed by default – lending him a constantly bored expression, though it can sometimes be interpreted as him being tired. He is usually neither of those, though it is useful if he wants to avoid conversation with individuals he doesn’t care for that don’t get the message.<<PERSONALITY>>
Disciplined
Through his years of martial art training, Andrew has learnt discipline, and it is ingrained in his psyche enough for it to be instinctive. When he is engaged in a duel, he will often fight them as if he were still being watched by his instructor. This means that he will often avoid going for areas that he would have been forbidden from striking, when in the ring – the groin, the eyes (where he can help it), amongst other body parts. That is not to say he is outside of striking those areas, however – he wants to survive, and will break his code of conduct in varying degrees, if he can force himself to.
Humorous
It should also be noted that Andrew has a tendency to try and make jokes, even in the grimmest of situations. It is a habit of his, that – while not always welcome – is useful in keeping him going. If he’s about to be dunked in lava? He’ll make a quip about the heat. If he’s being beaten to a pulp? He’ll crack a joke about how he looks to others. If there’s an unbeatable boss about to slaughter the entire party? He’ll regret leaving the stove on. His jokes aren’t always funny, but it’s in his nature to make sure he doesn’t impede his performance by being weighed down by an inevitable death.
Good Under Pressure
Having been involved in numerous fights, Andrew has naturally learnt to keep his cool in the middle of a battle. Heat and pressure make coal into diamonds – he reasons that the heat of battle and the pressure of having to win forges the finest warriors. No matter how tough the enemy, no matter how much he has been beaten down, Andrew seems to be able to keep his head on straight, sometimes even using his own pain to fuel his determination. Keeping his head in battle also lets him know when to run away – it’s not often that he succumbs to staying beyond a sensible point.~
Egotistical
Andrew isn’t always a joke-cracking, level-headed warrior, however. Despite how he acts, he’s actually quite an egotistical person. He does a good job of hiding it, yes, but in reality, Andrew loves to do things that make him feel better about himself, while demeaning other people. If he does something well, he’ll casually slip it into a conversation, and proceed to act humble when it’s brought up. But, if society wouldn’t frown upon him for doing it, he would begin bragging in a heartbeat. It’s no wonder those who truly know him try not to speak with him that often.
Unadapted to Civilian Life
And, while he keeps his head in combat, civilian life is a different matter entirely. A bitter person liable to switching to an angered state like there was a switch for it, he has been known to lose his calm demeanour without any obvious – or subtle – stimuli. He doesn’t rant and rave, though. He’s more of a passive-aggressive character, but when he does directly insult someone, he doesn’t do it while clearly displaying a burning-hot anger. Instead, he adopts the coldest of expressions imaginable, and delivers cutting insults faster than the ear can follow. After which, he will bid you adieu, and leave.
Inconsistent
But, there is one fatal flaw in his personality that sticks out above all else – his inconsistency. Happy and enigmatic one moment, and the physical embodiment of fury the next, Andrew is not best known for having a personality someone can just write down – merely traits that he possesses. People have tried to be his friend in the past, but a lot fo them have quit because he just couldn’t seem to decide what kind of person he wanted to be. It’s not a mental condition, or anything like that – he’s merely a person who can’t seem to pick a mindset, unless he’s under pressure.<<HISTORY>>
Andrew was born as the son of a kickboxing instructor, and a history teacher. Most people just nodded their heads at this when they asked his parents’ occupations, and did not ask any further questions – they assumed that his father was the instructor, and his mother the teacher. However, the inverse was actually true – not that he was afraid of being mocked, it was just that the need to correct somebody never arose. Family life was fairly placid, for the three of them. He had two loving parents who taught him right and wrong, and he only had the odd falling out with them that was inevitable for a small child.
Primary school was not much of an experience for Andrew. It was, for him, what it was to everyone else – adults sorting children out into those with a future, future problem children, and those still salvageable. Of course, the children just thought it was a boring place they went to five times a week where the adults would tell them things that seemed vaguely interesting. Andrew showed little talent in the arts while he was there – indeed, his potential there seemed dismal. In fact, he seemed to have no real potential in any field, and though he was still a child and would be able to change, people weren’t expecting much from him.
But, when he got into high school, Andrew began to buck his ideas up. Suddenly, he abandoned his carefree persona, and buried his head in the books. Teachers soon noticed that he was upping his abilities, even if his musical and artistic talent was abysmal. And what was the reason for this sudden burst of hard work? Simple – he had been beaten to a pulp. Not by his parents – but it was in his mother’s class. Simply put, he was being graded for an orange belt, but he didn’t take it seriously enough. He got beaten down, and he felt humiliated. So he changed his mindset, after a long, stern talk by his mother to him.
As the years went by, it was clear that the more naturally talented students were always going to outclass Andrew, no matter how hard he worked. However, he still managed to work at a level that allowed himself to keep pace with them. In particular, he showed affinity for history. Likely a mix of having a great teacher both at school and at home (his father did not work at his high school), and having a great interest in the subject, history was the one subject he truly excelled at. His ability in martial arts, however, was proving quite commendable.
Andrew, having since pulled his act together, had become a disciplined and effective fighter. People always seemed to underestimate him due to his unassuming appearance, and short stature. However, the more experienced knew never to judge a person by how they looked – and that a low centre of gravity allows for one hell of a punch. Through his blood, sweat tears, and countless hours of hard work, he clawed his way to brown belt, and had begun increasing the intensity of his training in order to be able to attain the much-coveted black belt. The tests for a black belt weren’t just tough – they pushed the person’s body to its limits, and Andrew’s mother was never the most merciful of people in the first place.
That is not to say he was always studying or training, though – he had to make time for himself, after all. And there was nothing quite like gaming, to him. An avid gamer all throughout his life, he had amassed quite the library of games, though most of them were for his PC. And, through some bizarre stroke of luck, he had managed to get his hands on a copy of the much-talked about virtual reality game, Sword Art Online. He wasn’t big on knowledge about technology, so most of the specs were lost on him – however, he knew enough to know it had the potential to be a fantastic experience.
Then everything changed, whenthe fire nation attackedKayaba Akihiko made his announcement.
Panic ran rife through the area as the announcement was made, naturally. Andrew would be lying if he denied that he was completely calm after the news sunk in. however, that was not to say he didn’t keep his head. He hadn’t faced any life-or-death situations in the past, nor had he ever come close to death in any sort of scenario. However, he was trained to handle pressure, and work with it. And so, though he still had reservations about going into a world that could kill him with a weapon he had minimal experience with, Andrew rushed out. Training was something he needed, and there were few better ways to do it than by pitting his wits against the world.SKILLS

Poison Sting One-Handed Spears
1 Strikes, 1 Specials, 100% Speed, 100% Power
The user crouches, and focusses intently on their target, while holding their spear of choice close to themselves. The spear will glow a toxic-looking purple, but will lose this glow immediately after the sword art is unleashed. The attack causes the user to quickly thrust their spear in a single direction, after which they return to a normal stance. If successful, a weak poison is applied to the target, though its damage is best suited to weak enemies.
Parastab One-handed Spear
1 Strikes, 1 Specials, 100% Speed, 100% Power
The user grounds themselves, and focusses intently on the enemy, while holding their spear in a poised position. The spear glows a pale yellow, but loses this glow the instant the sword art is used. The spear is thrust in a direction of the user’s choice, after which they return to a normal stance. The attack paralyses the foe momentarily – though it may not be useful for the more resistant enemies.<<Momiji Rokudo from Aphorism as Andrew Browning>><<character by Unusual Hatmongerer>><<profile template by bunny>>
