Jagd's most noticeable trait is the ugly loop of scar that circles his throat from beneath one corner of his jaw to the other, curling up just below his right ear. His smiles tend to pull at the damaged tissue, but that makes them no less wide. Eyes the color of fresh snow beam out at the world over that cheerful expression.

His armor is an amalgation of leather and steel, bound together to keep joints limber but limbs protected, surrendering sheer defense for speed. In his hands gleams a wicked spear, whose point gleams like oil, black in the sunlight.

The user grounds the butt of the spear against the earth behind them, striking a black spark from it. Then they lunge forward, the spark igniting into a streak of ebony light that slices forward with the weapon.

A crackle of light spawns on the user's back hand, and with a whine of discharging energy they launch forward, striking out twice in an upwards V with twin lunges.

Jagd traveled with his mother, an anthropologist, for much of his youth, granting him a truly multicultural background. Having been to Dubai, Prague, London, and Egypt during her cultural studies, he learned mutiple languages and a thirst for learning higher than any other desire or need. It did lack for children his own age, which to this day makes him terminally embarassing to be around, because there are some social mores that he never did quite pick up.

Jagd was home-schooled, as no regular academy would be able to keep up with his patchwork academics, troubling difficulty with speaking whatever the newest native language is, and his general oddity. Instead he continued to travel with his mother and spoke with her collegues, which did wonders for his maturity and horrible things to his ability to relate to unreasonable people. When she passed on in Jagd's seventeenth year of life, he applied for minor emancipation and took up her study with a collegue of his mother's, Siobhana MacClatchley.

The most recent two years Jagd has spent grinding away at college as best he can from across the continent, which means lots of online courses, patchwork tutoring, and frustration - or, what would have been frustration for anyone not as endlessly ineffable as Jagd. He had finally started to make some headway in his sophomore year when the SAO incident began.

Jagd took the announcement as a challenge, largely unbothered by the division from the real world, though an ember of hateful resentment burns quiet and cold behind his cheery smile. There's little he can do to the creator directly yet, so he trains, and waits.
