The activation stance of this technique is performed by pointing the sword toward the sky and holding the pose for a brief moment. Then, the user points the blade toward the opponent. Upon doing so, the sword will glow violet and the user's weapon will automatically extend 4 feet toward the opponent. This art is finally completed with a simple forward thrust, in order to take advantage of the added length of the weapon, before retracting back toward the user. The upside of this particular technique is that it allows a decently quick strike from a further distance.

The activation stance of this technique is triggered when the user extends their arm out to maximum length and performs a slight crouch. Then, as the technique activates, the user lunges forward and performs a 180 degree horizontal slash on up to 3 enemies. As soon as the first slash is performed, the second attack chains upon the first with another 180 degree slash on the same targets, though performed at an upward angle. The end result is that the attack leaves behind a wound that resembles an inversed 7.

Positives

[+] Intelligent – Ever since he was a young boy, Azu had the ability to think ahead of himself. He is an avid thinker and spends most of his time thinking of possible strategies to fix a problem. He is highly knowledgeable of tactical situations and is always a step ahead. He is skilled with computers and science, and is very agile when it comes to logical situations. He was always the top of his classes when it came to exams.


[+] Reliable – When you are in Azu’s life, he makes everything possible whenever that person is in need. A lot of people, his brother especially, relies on Azu to make things right, or to fix an issue. Though it sometimes drives Azu to the edge, he finds a certain pleasure in knowing that people rely on him for certain things.


[+] Hopeless Romantic – Azu enjoys the idea of love. Azu also enjoys to flirt with women. It’s not usually effective towards women, but he tries his best. With his intelligence, he tends to come up with his own pickup lines and is very tactical. He has also studied everything there is to know about women, so he can read a woman easily. Some women see him as a pervert, but he sees it as if he’s “inquisitively informed”.


[+] Observant – Throughout his life, Azu has always had a keen eye for observing. When observing someone, he observes the smallest detail on an item or a person, making sure that he doesn’t miss a single detail. He can easily catch liars this way, but he is very quiet on his observational skills. He doesn’t let too many people know how much he observes, and sometimes acts in a nonchalant manner to protect himself.


[+] Amicable – Azu is very friendly towards people. Though he is somewhat of a loner, he has revolved most of his life around his only true friend, his brother and sister. He makes quick friends he barely ever sees again, but he is very friendly for that matter. He never comes off as mean and people usually open up to him warmly due to his friendly nature.


Negatives

[-] Loner – Throughout his adolescence, Azu grew out to be somewhat of a loner. Azu grew up with his brother and sister. Though he felt they were his only friends, he found more comfort on solitary company. He enjoyed thinking by himself. You would say he is more of an introvert, but he does like human interactions on certain occasions. He was always taken care of by his brother, so he tried finding other ways to help his loneliness. Flirting with women and playing basketball usually cured this, but solitary company is usually his best right.


[-] Follower – Being the “younger brother”, Azu tends to follow onto his brother’s actions. He doesn’t mind following someone as long as he feels it is the right way and in the right form of justice. If he feels something is wrong, then he chooses his own path. He doesn’t have enough confidence to play the role of the leader, but is willing to play the role of the leader when the situation calls for it.


[-] Gullible– Azu can sometimes be considered as the one people take advantage of. Though he is highly intelligent, he is too kind. Sometimes, it is very hard for Azu to say no to people, and he never wants to intentionally hurt them. Whenever a situation arises where someone is in need, Azu is always there, especially if it’s a damsel in distress. When people catch on to his kindness, it is easy to ask him for favors, trick him and even manipulate him.


[-] Hot Headed – When it comes to dire situations, there are times where Azu will show his anger, but this is very rare. He has a bad temper at times, but he tries to hide it. It takes a lot to push Azu’s buttons, but he is constantly brooding within himself rather than displaying his anger. His loneliness and lack of confidence combined created suppressed anger that Azu has bottled up.


[-] Unforgiving – When Azu feels betrayed of lied to in any way shape or form, it is very hard to get Azu’s trust back. He shows a very cold and demeaning side to the person, pushing them to the side or doing things in spite of the person just to show that there is no trust between them. When Azu is angry at someone, he will definitely show it through his actions toward that person. Though he is somewhat forgiving, it takes a lot to make him get to this level with someone. He is reasonable, but break his trust and he will show his wrath.

Born on February 14th, Azure Vermillion was born in the central Hospital of Florence, Italy. Born from his Italian mother and English father, the blue eyed, raven haired boy was an addition to the wealthy Vermillion household. His older brother, Alexander was just 3 years older, but has a great resemblance their father, Theo Vermillion. A year after Azu’s toddler days, they welcomed their baby sister to their life as well. During their childhood, Azu had an interest in books. Even though he couldn’t read yet, he loved looking through books and pictures.


When starting school, he always had his brother and sister with him, but he wasn’t as loud and talkative as Alexander. He was a lot more shy and reserved, but he always found himself liking books and he was a lot more developed than the rest of the kids, which has him reading by age 4, and read the entire Harry Potter Series by age 7.


His parents spent most of their childhood travelling, so they were mostly raised themselves and by their nanny, Harriet. Azu participated in many activities thanks to their wealth such as Fencing, Archery and music lessons.

Through Azu’s early teenage years, their parents spent more time travelling. Their mother’s writing career was booming, and their father worked for months at a time in various locations as an engineer. When Azu turned 15, his father encountered a project in Tokyo, Japan that could most likely last him for years. Not wanting to leave home, they were torn whether or not if they stayed in Italy, or followed their father to Tokyo while their mother was on her book tour. Making a decision, the boys took their sister and followed their father to Tokyo. It was a decision to start a new life. They did not speak the language, but they easily adapted to the lifestyle, while taking lessons in Japanese, and learning the culture. Azu spent a lot of time trying to learn the language and the people once he began High School there, but he took it as a challenge and learned everything he needed to know.


Entering High School in a foreign country was no easy task though. He was barely 15 and his brother was a 3rd year student. Though Alexander had no idea how Japanese culture was, he enchanted girls with his looks and got away with most things due to charm and wit. Azu on the other hand was shyer and quiet. He made a few friends, but he spent more time learning the language more than anything else. He was bullied by a few Japanese students who found him vulnerable, but Alexander always protected him from those bullies. After Alexander’s graduation from High School, a lot of his traits fell onto Azu. Alexander helped him build more confidence with girls, allowing him to flirt with them, increasing his confidence. Because of this, Azu became student council president, making him completely untouchable and popular. It was his turn to protect his sister as well, even though she didn’t really need it.


A few months towards graduation, Azu was slightly stressed and needed some relief from school work and university exams. At home, his sister introduced him and Alexander to a game that she was beta testing, which was supposed to be a revolutionary, pioneering technology that would change the world. Intrigued, Azu looked up more information on this game and decided to give it a try with his brother once it was officially released. Once they purchased their own nerve gear they both emerged into this whole new world.

New to all of this, Azu began to create his character along with Alexander. He chose “Vermillionseven” as his username, keeping a homage to his last name. He chose a character close to his appearance, and gave him basic traits related to him. Once he entered the world, he noticed how vast the world is. Everything felt so real and new, despite that it was a video game. His sister guided both him and Alexander to the things that she already knew about the world and the abilities they have available to them. Alexander decided to call it a day and decided to log out to go on his date. Strangely enough, he could not log out. Surprised, Azu also checked and he couldn’t log out either. They asked their sister about it and she was just as confused as they were.


Suddenly, they were warped to town of beginnings’ main square, where they were surrounded by a mob of players. A few minutes later, there were thousands of players surrounding the area who were just as confused as Azu and Alexander. A large reaper appeared before them, introducing himself as the game master of the game. Explaining their new circumstances and rules of the game, Azu was immediately shocked and unsure what to do. Looking to his brother and sister, they were both as shocked as he was. Becoming angry, Azu's brother yelled towards the reaper, challenging him, but his voice was not the only angry one. There were hundreds of players yelling towards the reaper, angrily demanding to log out.


As the reaper exited the area, a mirror appeared before them, and his avatar suddenly turned into him, where the mirror depicted his looks. Looking to his side, he noticed a lot of players were turning as well. He spotted a few girls turn into guys, proving him that no one is trusted on the internet. Disgusted by the sight, he decided to make something out of these new circumstances, wondering what will happen if they really died.


Azu doubted what the reaper said, about actually dying. He felt like it was a major publicity stunt by the media and something that he could easily overlook. His brother Alexander was mad, but the fact that they were in this together made him feel a lot better. Taking on this journey may not be easy, but Azu was certain that with his family by his side that the game will be completed. With this new found confidence, Azu and Alexander took the next step towards becoming the server’s strongest players.
