Egon had always been shorter than the other boys his age, standing at 5'7". Though he has other traits that set him apart from the crowd, his long ebony hair. It reaches far past the curvature of his butt.

For this art to be used, the user has to point the sword downwards. It glows a dark purple, with several lighter sparks surrounding it. At a speed a tad bit higher than normal, the user, if not near the opponent the user runs towards them at a speed slightly faster than their running speed as well, slashes the opponent in a horizontal fashion.

An art that requires the user to point the axe upwards, causing it to illuminate a 'heavenly' white, the user runs towards the opponent at an above average speed, and quickly slashes the opponent each slash the glowing grows a bit brighter until it is almost blinding before completely disappearing almost immediately after the final blow hits. This is normally saved for a type of finishing act.

Egon was born in Germany, not that he remembers much of it, soon after his third birthday, his parents became employed by the history museum in Cairo. Both of Egon's parents were called out for a four year dig in the Valley of the Kings. Egon was homeschooled by a tutor his parents had hired, he was really only allowed to play with the children of other archeologists, which were well, mostly much older than he was. From a small age, Egon wanted to be much like his parents, he took the time to ask his parents about ancient Egyptian culture, their Gods, even going so far as to beg his mother to teach him how to read hieroglyphics. Despite his own interest, he just wanted to please his mother and father. He'd compensate his loneliness by accompanying his mother to digs, the less important ones of course, Eventually, the Baer family made their home permanently in Egypt.

Eventually it became routine for Egon to accompany his parents to digs. He found nothing of significance, but it didn't really matter to him if he ever found something. The young man just wanted to be with people, socialize, and not be chastised by his tutor every time he pronounced a French word wrong. His parents made him learn on top of Arabic, Hebrew, and German, languages that he though he'd never really need in his life such as Italian and French. He really never did well in English-based languages.

Egon received SAO from his parents, who feared he'd grow up without friends his own age, and never be able to understand his own age group. Egon took it as a way to socialize with others, hopefully make some friends around the world and be able to keep in contact with them. He made an account with the username Horus, as Horus was his favorite Egyptian god.

As like many, Egon didn't believe the original statement. He was in a state of disbelief for about a day or two, constantly checking his menu screen every few minutes to see if this was just a prank. Eventually it all sunk in, he was going to die in this game. After a few hours, he figured he might a well try and live instead of give up. Though if he does one day make it out of this deathtrap alive, he'll seek his revenge on the creators of SAO - that Egon swears.
