Mikayla stands at about 5’4” weighing 110 lbs with a slim, curvy figure. Her hair is aqua in color, going down to about the butt usually kept down or in pigtails and has overhanging bangs that come down to the eye level. Lastly, her eyes are blue in color.

The user brings their armed hand up above and behind their head until charged. Full charge of the Sword Art is signaled by the Sky blue glow where the system can then take over. The system then swings the user’s hand straight down the target’s body, leaving a blue streak of light in its wake. This Sword Art does little else besides deal moderate damage.

This Sword Art has the user bringing their armed hand back with the weapon pointing forward towards their target as if preparing a thrust until charged. Full charge of the Sword Art is signaled by a dark purple glow where the system can then take over. In a swift forward thrust, the system sends the tip of the blade into the target with enough momentum to knock the opponent onto their back, providing an opportunity for a clean follow-up attack.

Kind-Hearted
Mikayla is kind to pretty much anyone who meets her for the first time. She is cheerful, funny, caring, loyal, and selfless to her friends though that is quick to change if she realizes that the person isn’t what she thought they were. Like many others, she is someone who believes her trust and respect is a privilege and not a right.

Adaptive
Though she has average intelligence, she is definitely capable of adjusting herself to the situation and is skilled at learning new things on the fly to make sure that she can get through a situation alive. Mikayla is more of a girl that makes her plans at the scene rather than plan beforehand.

Optimistic
Simply put, Mikayla prefers to see the greener pastures rather than let negative thoughts cloud her judgment and subsequently hinder her.

Hard-Working
Being a hard worker is probably one of Mikayla’s best traits. If she wants something, she will work to earn it rather than have someone else get it for her. She is determined, focused and reliable as a result but at the same time can cause her to suffer from “tunnel-vision”.

Clumsy
Mikayla is the type of girl that would trip over a twig in the middle of the street or spill something if she’s attempting to balance something. Despite that, she somehow maintains good balance and coordination in the midst of combat.

Tsundere
As a Tsundere, she is a girl that will actively (and sometimes aggressively) deny her feelings for anyone that she likes. She fears both rejection and heartbreak so to her, becoming attracted to someone means that she’s already taken a step towards one or the other.

Cautious
Though she doesn’t plan beforehand, Mikayla does prefer to plan when she can see what she’s dealing with in person. If she feels that she can deal with the opponents, she’ll attack; otherwise she would rather not take the risk and leave it to someone else.

Follower
Mikayla is not a natural-born leader. Her tendency to adapt on her own and come up with her plans on the fly makes it difficult to really follow what she is doing. On the flip side, she is a good listener and can follow orders quite easily.

Mikayla was born on December 8th as the second daughter of a Japanese game designer and his wife from America who had no career of her own (so she was basically a housewife). With her mother always home, Mikayla was well taken care of and with the success of her father’s company, she had all the elements of care that she could possibly ask for. For the most part, Mikayla’s early childhood was quite normal by having the love of both of her parents as well as a good, stable home. Once she started to learn how to walk and talk, Mikayla’s parents switched up their style of raising her and instead opted to make anything that she wanted a reward instead of just plain spoiling her. So at an early age, Mikayla learned to earn what she wanted instead of just pleading for it. It was through this manner that she learned how to be polite. In school, Mikayla didn’t really stand out and was just another girl in the crowd. She had a modest amount of friends and did what any young girl would.

Once she reached the age of 10, Mikayla’s father started to involve her a bit more in his career, almost as if he wanted her to take over for him in the future. She started to learn about video games from puzzles to first person shooters to MMORPGs. Needless to say, she became addicted to gaming, often using milestones in one game to earn other games to play.

Mikayla’s gaming continued into her early teenage years to a point where her father started to worry that her grades would suffer far too much from gaming. As a way to get her to regain her interest in school, Mikayla’s father made gaming times rewards for good grades. Thankfully, this method paid off. Mikayla often brought multiple tests home as well as talking about other achievements that she did in school, including joining the tennis club upon the recommendation of one of her friends. But instead of gaming more, Mikayla started to game less and less as she matured and started to pay more attention to her club and school activities as well as her friends rather than play video games. So this time around, her father was now beginning to lose ground with his daughter and feared that she may lose interest altogether.

However, that was to end when Mikayla’s father told her about the new video game that was going to be released called “Sword Art Online”. It was a ground breaking game that used a Dive System with the use of a helmet to immerse the user in a complete 3D virtual world, almost as if you were another person. As expected, Mikayla’s interest in gaming reignited and worked her butt off for the time before the pre-orders were opened to earn her NerveGear and her copy of Sword Art Online. Without wasting any time when the game was released, Mikayla dove into the virtual world that is SAO.

Once in the game under the in-game name of “Miku” and the appearance of a green, long-haired swordswoman, Mikayla took a look around. The world truly caught her imagination and was better than anything that she could have possibly dreamed. There were multitudes of excited gamers and people already settling into the virtual life. It was almost as if they had been here all along. As a veteran gamer, Mikayla wasted no time getting out into the fields and testing her skills against the boars. Despite some time away from MMOs prior to SAO, Mikayla did surprisingly well. After her first round of practice out in the fields, Mikayla was about to head back to town when she was suddenly teleported into a courtyard along with every other person that was also playing SAO.

She listened as this large cloaked figure introduces himself as the game master and welcomes them to SAO. At first, she was thinking that this was some sort of introduction service for the first day launch of the game. But once the knowledge that dying in game meant death in real life, Mikayla stood in shock and truly believed that it must be some sort of sick joke. It also appeared that everyone else around her believed the same thing. Mikayla opened her menu afterward to really see if he was telling the truth and sure enough, the “Log Out” button was nonexistent. Once everyone’s true appearance was revealed with the use of the mirror, it further affirmed that they were truly playing a death game. Once back in town, Mikayla wondered what she should do. She didn’t really fear death as she knew that she would have to be out of town fighting in order to be in any sort of danger, but with 100 floors to clear before the end of the game and thus freedom, Mikayla didn’t want to sit around and mope. She resolved that sitting in the Town Of Beginnings will only decay the mind and remove any resolve they would need to beat the game. To survive, she knew that she would have to be strong and focused. As much as she likes gaming, she would much rather be out in the real world with her friends and family instead of a virtual world, separated from reality.
