Hayashi, Ino grew up in Japan with her family as the youngest of her four sisters. Her family life was a happy caring environment. Ino's father worked as a Business man who travels around the world doing jobs for different companies. But he was always around to spend time with Ino. Her mother was a housewife and looked after Ino while her father was away.Ino's mother made sure that she had a decent education. She enrolled her into a good school, where Ino discovered her love for animals.

Her dad was really strict when it came to her grades. Whenever one of her grades would slip he would punish her by taking away her pets and weekly trips to the zoo. Ino finished school with top marks in all her subjects. She decided to follow her dream of working with animals. She had always loved animals since primary school where her first encounter was at the zoo. Ino sent in a application to a local university to begin her long journey as a Vet.

From a young age Ino always liked computer games and consoles. One day while looking around town on the way to her collage. She found out that there was a revolutionary new game that was coming to the market. It was called Sword Art Online. The game is a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) that uses Nerve Gear, a virtual reality helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain. The creator, Akihiko Kayaba, was going to donate the game to a select few hospitals and attempted to get it for her veterinary collage to see if the technology could be used for animals as well as humans. Ino decided right there and then that she had to get the game for herself and try it out.
