Here's what I'm seeing on this site.
No regulation of anything and the cries of a handful effecting a few.
Namely,
People having a problem with those that spent their earned money to buy their Sword Art ranks and have advanced well into the spectrum.
So the course of action proposed was to nerf those players.
Secondly,
People have manged to obtain HIGH ratings in overall armor and weapon ratings (C-Levels). These players are opportunists and have spent the mats and time to acquire those mats. They deserve their C-Level because they worked for it.
The proposed course and the one that looks to be followed is a edit in the system which negates the work of those people.
Thirdly,
A few players are racing ahead in levels (Nisha). They spend the time. They spend the energy to make topics and gather the EXP to advance rapidly. They earn their place at the top.
The solution was Thread limits and a possible level cap in the newest patch.
What I'm seeing routinely is people wanting to punish those who do the work to earn the high slots. yes it may be grinding or whatever you choose to call it but that's what it takes to get somewhere in an online game. Granted this is an RP but let the people play as they see fit. Repeatedly slapping the people who work hard to achieve great things is like telling them "Hey you do good work but I won't pay you because you do your work too well."
I don't know about the rest of you but if I had a job where I was punished for doing a good job and being a hard worker I'd quit the job and sooner be unemployed.
So my proposal.
STOP PUNISHING THE PLAYERS WHO WORK THEIR ASSES OFF FOR WHAT THEY EARNED.
Also,
Stats. We need them. With the current system any level ones can go against a level 10 and have minimal problems if the player who's a level ten isn't very good.
My suggestion for stats are the following.
HP
Str(atk)
Def
Spd
A simple 4 stat system that would clear up numerous problems.
Make it so weapons and armor effect those stats. Like say a lvl 10 one handed sword ads a +2 or whatever to the STR stat when attacking and that level 10 full plate armor grants a +5 to defense when taking damage.
At level up give each player 10pts to spend amongst their stats as they see fit. This will allow players to build their characters to fill various rolls.
As it stands right now the system is vague and poorly outlined. We have nothing to determine anything with. We need to establish clear and very concise guidelines. I understand stats will muddy the freedom of rp but when you're playing a game where knowing how much damage you do can determine if you can win against certain monsters it becomes a necessary evil.
Finally,
DE threads should become a more serious thing. Currently in DM'ed thread DE means the following:
"If you follow the rules and get hurt you can escape with a sliver of health remaining. If you don't follow the rules you'll be killed."
Now as I've said countless times in the Cbox I expect to die when I enter DE threads. I expect that I won't make it out and if I do I want to know I earned it not that I just followed the rules and didn't do anything egregious to bring the ire of the DM. Right now they're merely a joke. Make the player earn the right to survive. MAKE THEM EARN A REASON TO BE PROUD.
My suggestion:
Make DE threads optional as they are now but raise the difficulty to weed out those who don't want to risk losing their character.
ARC ONLY. all other responses will be removed.
