Rotor<<NAME>>Joseph de Perycave, or "Joe" to his friends<<AGE>>18<<GENDER>>Male<<NATIONALITY>>British<<APPEARANCE>>Llama llama duck!<<PERSONALITY>>Positive Traits
-Humorous: Joe has quite a good sense of humour that provides an uplifting effect to saddened friends and allies.
-Honest: Mama didn't raise no liar, after all. Joe finds lying a rather unnecessary skill to have, believing honesty to be the best policy.
-Optimist: Joe constantly sees the good side of things. He believes that people are inherently good, everything happens for a reason, and things will work out in the end.
Negative Traits
-Idealist: People are basically good and honest, everything happens for a reason, and it’ll all work out in the end— right? Truth is, Joe has an unrealistically optimistic outlook, and it gets in the way of his judgement.
-Excessive Honesty: While Joe doesn't believe in lying, it's commonly said that the truth hurts. When Joe honestly voices his opinion, he can sometimes hurt the people he talks to.
-Insensitive: Joe's sense of humour can often lead him to be perceived as an insensitive soul, who doesn't care much for the plights of others.<<HISTORY>>Joe had a bit of an unusual upbringing. He spent a fair amount of his childhood in the English countryside. He had an older sister, who was in school when he was just a baby. Both his parents worked in a city, so they had to travel a long way to get to work every day. His blessed mother managed to get some time off so she could look after baby Joe.
Growing up in a rural environment was far more different than growing up in a city. His parents owned a bit of land, and used it to grow their own food. It was well-known in their small community that their home-grown fruit, vegetables and honey were good, and Joe was brought up on a diet of it. He spent a fair bit of his childhood exploring the area around his house, discovering a small pathway that led to a nearby forest.
The forest became his regular haunt for the later parts of his childhood. He would go there if he had a disagreement with his parents and needed to calm down, or if he just wanted to go out and explore a little bit more. Yet, one day, he found the path to the forest blocked. Apparently, it ran behind another house’s garden, and the people who owned that house were planning on extending their garden. Joe didn’t go to the forest any more after he learned that.
Joe’s schooling mostly involved going to private schools. His parents were rich, and were more than able to afford it. Needless to say, Joe enjoyed learning. He particularly enjoyed learning about all the different literature out there. Many would say that was where Joe’s interest in books began. He quickly became infatuated with reading, particularly if the literature was of the fantasy persuasion.
While at secondary school, Joe picked up a variety of hobbies, including learning to play the saxophone and piano, writing, and anime. It was around the time he was able to go to college when Joe discovered the delightful world of VRMMORPGs. Every night, after he had finished his homework and read a little bit, he would plug in and be transported to fantasy worlds, where any stress about school and his life could be let off.
When Sword Art Online came out, Joe jumped at the opportunity to be involved in what was essentially VRMMORPG history. He was thankfully able to get his copy and log in successfully. For the first bit of his SAO experience, he was pleasantly surprised by the game. He enjoyed it for a little while, and then tried to log out.
Needless to say, it didn’t work. That was when he found out what Akihio had in store for everyone who had logged in. Joe was horrified. He panicked, wondering how he was going to get out and see his family and friends again. He calmed down eventually and began to play the game. When he is able to log out, he plans to go to the forest from his childhood and read a book. For now, however, he just wants to survive.SKILLS

Aurum Surge. one-handed swords
3 Strikes, 0 Specials, 75% Speed, 75% PowerThis Sword Art is activated by drawing back the sword arm, with the tip of the sword facing the enemy. The sword glows a deep purple, and the user jabs the sword forward quickly, then withdraws it. This is repeated twice more. The strikes themselves don't do much damage on their own, but combined they can be pretty damaging.
Curved Flare. one-handed swords
1 Strikes, 0 Specials, 125% Speed, 125% PowerThis fancy Sword Art is achieved by the player crossing their sword arm across their chest and angling their weapon so that the tip is pointing at an angle. the sword glows bright orange, and the user runs at their enemy. The user then jumps and turns in the air, bringing their sword around in a slash. While it is just a single slash, it is a powerful one.<<greeny mcglasseson from original as Joseph de perycave>><<character by Rotor>><<profile template by bunny>>
