ACE<<NAME>>Alan Edward Padmore<<AGE>>18<<GENDER>>Male<<NATIONALITY>>Welsh<<APPEARANCE>>Mr. Padmore!<<PERSONALITY>>Ace is a shy little fellow who tries his best to be as friendly as he possibly can. He has a particularly soft spot for those who seem as alone and afraid as he is. After a while, after getting to know a person, Ace will attempt to keep them close and protect them as well as he can.
Ace is modest and will often not accept compliments on his achievements. He is of the firm belief that the best reward is doing a job well, and that compliments aren't necessary. However on the flip side, Ace has very little confidence in his abilities or in himself.
Ace can also be short-tempered, especially when it comes to people insulting his height. It's often the only time Alan will become verbal; he will break into highly articulate and acidic words that if they actually physically hurt, they could probably kill. That being said, Ace is an academic type of person, preferring to use his words then his sword in both battle and negotiation.
He is a traditionalist, meaning that he is very bad with change. If things change too often, Ace starts to sulk and has a bad time adapting to it. However, he is also ambitious, in that he wants to make something in this world of value, even if he's not recognized for it.<<HISTORY>>Alan Edward Padmore was born in Wales. His parents were happily together, and at the time of his birth, he had an older sister named Braelyn, who was ten years older then himself. When he was a baby, no one could exactly see what was wrong with him; he seemed like an incredibly normal child. The truth about him would emerge later in life.
Two years after his birth, his younger sister Anya was born. As a result, Anya and Alan tended to play a lot together, while Braelyn babysat them when she wasn't in school.
It wasn't until four though that his parents started to notice something odd about their child. He was significantly shorter then the rest of his preschool classmates. It was almost unnaturally so. But it wasn't until he had barely grown by the age of six that his parents took him for tests. When he was seven, his parents learned that Alan had a growth-hormone deficiency. He would be shorter then the rest of his peers for likely the majority of his life. Alan had already put up with being made fun of for his height, so this realization made things even worse. He became more of a recluse, and only associated with his sisters for plenty of years, at least until he went into middle school.
When Alan was eleven, he met a girl his age named Samara. Samara was a sassy, independent girl even when she was eleven, and befriended Alan one day on the school grounds by walking to him underneath a tree and kicking him. Lightly, but she did. She told him to stand up straight and tall, cause she hated how much he seemed sad. "It's pathetic to watch you!" Samara had said at the time.
Alan didn't even understand why she did it, but the two of them had walked home that day, and had been friends ever since. It was Samara that got him into video games, both old school and new school. Samara kept him up to date on all the tech news, and the two of them played a lot of FPS together.
When Alan was thirteen however, that was when his life changed. He was walking home from school with Anya and Samara. Braelyn, then about 23, was away at college in her final year.
There had been a gas fire.
His parents hadn't made it.
Braelyn dropped out of school, and took over guardianship of Alan and Anya. Alan himself had to move to a different part of the city. There was no Samara anymore, except for when he was online. Samara always helped to talk to after he transferred to a new school, where he was made fun of there for being a dwarf. Alan became more of a recluse and talked more and more with people online.
When Alan was 17, the news about SAO came out. He bought a NerveGear helmet and waited for the release as eagerly as anyone else. He even got himself a pre-ordered copy and waited outside for it. He was one of the first to load it up.
When Alan got into the game, he was delighted with the fact that he could alter his appearance. He was for once a tall, handsome looking young man. But at 5:30 PM that day, he was taught the harsh lesson of avatars, when it was taken away from him and he was told that he would be confined to this game until they could gain their freedom on the 100th floor.
Alan thought of hiding. But then he realized that really...
What was the point? They'd be here longer if they only waited.

IROH'S WISDOM. one-handed swords
1 Strike, 1 Special, 125% Speed, 75% PowerAce grips the hilt of the sword with his right hand and moves his left index and middle finger, while he points the sword at the ground, crossing over him from right to left. As he moves his fingers, the blade starts to glow with a violet sheen. Then, as Ace is low to the ground, he darts forward at the target and slashes at one of the lower limbs of the opponent. The dark violet leaves his blade and enters the opponent's cut, causing a DELAY effect in that limb for one turn.
YAICHI'S GRACE. one-handed swords
2 Strikes, 0 Specials, 50% Speed, 150% PowerAce loosely holds the hilt of the sword in his right hand, and points the blade down at the ground with a relaxed arm. The blade starts to glow an aquamarine blue, before Ace raises up the blade in a fluid and loose motion. He then pierces once with the blade into the target, preferably a limb, and then turns around and stabs at the opposite side, preferably into another limb.<<gaignun kukai jr. from xenosaga as alan padmore>><<character by BUNNY>><<profile template by bunny>>
