WEAPONSMITHING: LEVEL 1 - 119
Weaponsmithing is the art of crafting weapons, the bread and butter of each player of SAO. These weapons provide a way for the player to attack their foes, or even attack their friends, if they're the type to do so.
Weaponsmithing works like most of the other crafting professions. The user may craft any applicable weapon he or she so chooses, provided the crafted weapon's rank is 1/10th of their skill level or lower, rounded down. For instance, a rank 28 weaponsmith may craft Rank 2 weapon or lower.LEVEL 1 - 39DAGGERS
The small weapons like jambiyas, katars, dirks, tantos, or anything in between. These weapons are very quick, but don't do the most damage. Dagger users are ill-suited for raiding bosses, but if you want a quick attack or even a surprise attack, most dagger users are your player.
Materials: Copper Ingot x1, Tin Ingot x2
ONE-HANDED SWORDS
The bladed weapons that can be used practically in one hand. Some examples of this include shortswords, scimitars, wakizashi, and chokutou. This weapon type is generally good for slashing and piercing with more speed then their two handed counterpart.
Materials: Bronze Ingot x2, Copper Ingot x1
TWO-HANDED SWORDS
The bladed weapons that can only be used practically in one-and-a-half or two hands. Some examples of this include katanas, zweihanders, longswords and zhanmadao. This weapon type is generally good for slashing and piercing with more power then their one handed counterpart.
Materials: Bronze Ingot x1, Copper Ingot x2
ONE-HANDED MACES
The blunt weapons like blacksmith hammers, maces, and cudgels. Good for weapon breaks and generally very heavy.
Materials: Tin Ingot x2, Bronze Ingot x1
TWO-HANDED MACES
The massive blunt weapons like dire flails, heavy maces, and sledgehammers. Heaviest weapons, thus amazing for weapon breaks.
Materials: Tin Ingot x1, Bronze Ingot x2
ONE-HANDED AXES
The smaller heavy headed bladed weapons like axes, tomahawks, and onos. Slightly faster than a one-handed sword and better at cutting through resistances, though they lack all thrusting ability and their raw damage is a little lower.
Materials: Tin Ingot x2, Copper Ingot x1
TWO-HANDED AXES
The large heavy headed bladed weapons like heavy axes, dane axes, and war axes. Lower damage than a two-handed sword, but it punches though shields and resistances alike with relative ease.
Materials: Tin Ingot x1, Copper Ingot x2
ONE-HANDED SPEARS
The long thrusting weapons like shortspears, hastas, and spontoons. Good thrusting but weak cutting.
Materials: Tin Ingot x2, Green Wood Stick x1
TWO-HANDED SPEARS
The long, heavy thrusting weapons like tridents, ranseurs, and lances. Excellent thrusting ability but just as slow as other heavy two-handed weapons.
Materials: Copper Ingot x2, Green Wood Stick x1
POLEARMS
The long hacking weapons like halberds, scythes, and poleaxes. The long reach is a disadvantage at short ranges where the deadly end of the weapon is too far away to be effective.
Materials: Bronze Ingot x1, Green Wood Stick x2
MARTIAL ARTS
The martial weapons such as knuckledusters, hand wrappings, and bo staffs. Martial Arts can be a powerful and speedy skill, but relies a lot upon the inner strength of the player and requires the player to be at risk to take more damage.
Materials: Bronze Ingot x2, Green Wood Stick x1
THROWING WEAPONS
Auxiliary weapons that can be used as makeshift weapons by any player, typically in the form of needles and picks. Unlike other weapon types, the skill governing these weapons is the Thrown Weapons skill. Players will have to retrieve these items upon use, so it is a good idea to be well-stocked.
