THANATOS<<NAME>>Min-Hye ''Hana'' Heo<<AGE>>17<<GENDER>>Female<<NATIONALITY>>Japanese<<APPEARANCE>>Min-Hye is a pretty girl; she stands at somewhere like 5'5 in height, so isn't the most tallest of people. She seems very unique, as her skin seems to be somewhat paler then what most people would have. This might just be something she did herself or what not. Her eyes are a startling green, almost glowing with her intentions; although at times they might seem darker then what people are used to. Her hair is black in colour, and has a weird short version in the back and then has twin bangs that curl a bit in the front, giving her a unique look. She has a pretty thin body, and just seems to in general, keep to herself looks wise.<<PERSONALITY>>Min-Hye is a girl that tends to be a duality in herself. In real-life, she was pretty much a recluse and kept herself from others; however when she realized that in a game world, she could be whoever she wanted, this changed drastically. Going under her japanese name, Hana, Min-Hye is a very unstable person; she has a lot of inconsistencies in how she acts, thus giving people a new experience each time they meet her. This makes it hard to pin what the girl is like, due to the ever-shitfting of her emotions and actions. This makes her almost chaotic in a sense, as she has very little control over what she wants to do at times. Ruled by her impulses, they may be as gentle as hugging someone she was questing with, to abandonning them to find a flower she liked. It's not that Min-Hye is unaware of the world, but rather that she chooses to ignore everything that doesn't pertain to her, making her extremely narrow-minded towards other people. These traits can easily make it very hard to try and know the girl any better, and that's why she tends to make them more obvious. Min-Hye is very protective of herself, preferring to be a loner when concerned with things, but also finding herself dependant on others all at the same time, making her very weak emotionally when others are concerned. So in order to prevent from being hurt, the girl tends to make herself as wild and as out there as she can in order to keep people from attaching themselves to her. All of this because she's insecure as a person in various fields.
However, she is a very talented girl; she is very intelligent, analytical and perceptive. This allows her to accurately judge people and things, and thus act in accordance to what she has percieved. She is also very helpful, since even though she keeps a distance from people, she finds herself wanting to help them. So even though she might just seem chaotic and self-serving, she's actually very helpful, wanting to make people feel better, or get stronger by the actions she commits. Often times she's misunderstood because of this, but that doesn't seem to matter to Min-Hye, due to the fact that she is very stubborn, often unwilling to fall from what she thinks is her perch of ideals. This makes it hard to taunt or otherwise break Min-Hye's morality, which is even harder to understand at times. She wants to help people but stays away from them; this kind of girl is often easily caught out, if it wasn't for her tactical training and awareness of other people. That's where her analytical side comes in to save her when she's in trouble; with slight hints from her more perceptive side, she can often get herself out of any trouble she makes. This is a good skill, as it also allows her to be oddly adaptive in combat; and considering that, she is very adaptive to life in general, as she easily took control of her life in the SAO world without much of a rumple. Although she was very closed in and shy, she has a pretty loud personality; perhaps this is faked, and maybe it was surpressed in the real world, but her words and self are ever-changing; she can speak in a texan accent one second, and then switch to a scottish accent the next if she feels like it. This makes her a bit off-putting, but very entertaining if you get on her good side.
A weird hobby she has is humming things to herself, either when she's walking, fighting, making things; she had always been musically inclined, despite her real life shyness. She tends to like making things, like potions, since it's a bit of an exact science to her, and she was always good in chemistry and biology. She also likes to take long walks, because she tends to feel locked in at times, and just loves to play with cute little animals. She dislikes when people try to force something onto her, like their ideals or opinions, and she doesn't like people that are cowardly. But not in the normal sense of the word. To her, cowards are people that are aware there is something wrong with them, but lack the courage to try and change it; she tends to be harsh and rough with these kind of people. She also dislikes pineapples, yuck! Something important to note is that Min-Hye tends to become fearful around people that try to touch her; she doesn't really like being touched unless she initiated some contact first. She's also scared of fire for some odd reason.<<HISTORY>>Min-Hye Heo was born to Seung-Bok Heo and Mi-ya Kim. This implies that both of her parents were indeed, Korean; however, Mi-ya Kim was in fact only half-korean. Her mother was half-Korean and then a quarter japanese and a quarter Americain. Another note is the Seung-Bok was actually also only half korean, with the other half being Japanese. That meant that Min-Hye's bloodline was three eights korean, three eights japanese and two eights american. This was a weird bloodline to have, to say the least; however, the girl received only her name and about two years of life with her birth parents, before they were killed trying to escape North Korea. They let their child float in a wicker basket, and luckily, she avoided detection until a girl in South Korea picked her up whilst washing clothes. Reading the letter, she brought the girl child to the Japanese Agency, and submitted all of the things for the small girl. The child was then sent to Japan, to live with her mother's parents. When she arrived, she was referred to as Hana by her grandparents, in order to try and fit in with the japanese culture. She was pretty much bullied for looking very different then most asians, due to the mix of americain in her blood making certain features a bit different. She had a few friends, about three of them to be fair. One of them as a foreigner, as her hair was blonde, and her name was Cecillia. Another was a pure japanese girl, with her name being Keiko; and the last friend was korean, with her name being Jin-ya. This made a strange group, but Min-Hye was very happy with them. They had a lot of adventures all through elementary and middle school. Lucky for them, they managed to all enter the same high school; but they were seperated into the four different classes.
This left Min-Hye alone in her class; quite quickly, she learned that the school was not as prestigious as she had thought it. On the inside, the students were all rotten; she was mercilessly bullied by her classmates, used as their punching bags. She didn't bring it up with her friends; although they met often at the beginning of the term, as the school year went on, it all dwindled to nothing. This left the girl very anxious, and soon she thought herself as friendless. Her out-going personality had become squashed, more so when the second term of first year, a delinquent, Takashi, took interest in her. He kept talking to her, and even though she was too embarrassed to say anything, keeping her mouth shut, he kept pestering her; and this caused some sort of rumours to fly. Her friends were pretty cold by that point, with only Keiko trying to help out Min-Hye from time to time; but they were all busy with their new social lives. Cecillia became extremely popular and Jin-ya was pretty athletic. Keiko was the plain girl that nobody disliked, and well, Min-Hye was extremely artistic; but it was bullied out of her each time that she did good. Her grandparents wouldn't understand why she just stopped trying; but Takashi's advances soon got to her, and she just started to follow him along on things. Why? Because when she did, he protected her from the bullies of her class; and that was a temporary relief. Takashi seemed to genuinely like her; he never forced her into anything, just spoke to her day by day. And then sometimes, he'd make some sort of suggestion, but then laugh it off. By the end of the first year second term, he had confessed to her, and wanted her to be his girlfriend. Seeing.. nothing harming, she accepted.
Despite the social collapse, she thought it was pretty nice to be going out with someone, despite that they were a delinquent and got suspended once in a while. But Takashi was kind; and as they were going out, he began to do things; like hold her hand, pet her hair, kiss her. She couldn't say no; if she said no when she was scared, wouldn't it ruin the relationship? That's what worried her, as she kept letting him do things to her; until one day, his hands dove lower then she liked. Her body jerked, and she pushed away, shaking her head in fear; knocking a canister, she just ran out of the room, and all the way home. Later that night, on the news, there was a story about a fire that was started by a cigarette; there had been gasoline that had been spilled, and the only person in the house, smoked a cigarette but didn't put it out; when it fell from the ashtray, it caused a fire. The person in the house died, and when his name came across the screen, Min-Hye screamed. It was Takashi. So by the start of the second term, of the second year, she was alone again. This made her an easy target for her classmates; always saying stuff like how he had killed himself in a brutal way because she was useless and such. But the four girls met up on their anual friend birthday; however, Cecillia was pretty much ignoring Min-Hye, and Jin-ya was pretty much being rude to Cecillia and Min-Hye. Keiko tried to get everyone to get along.. but Min-Hye felt bad. It was her fault again right? But something triggered; Cecillia dropped a comment about how only failures lost boyfriends. That made the girl snap. All three of the girls were surprised at how angry Min-Hye got; her words were scathing, and even so, she basically shouted out a lot of things. Including the fact that the three of them have basically let her be bullied; she lifted her shirt to show the bruises she had gotten from Jin-ya's basketball teammates that day. she pulled her sleeve and showed the needle marks she had gotten from Cecillia's groupies. And finally, she pulled down a stocking to show the burn mark she had gotten from someone that was interested in Keiko. All of this shocked the three girls.
''I've suffered because of all of you! And yet all you three can do is be passive, ignore me, or just be rude in general! I thought we were friends forever, but I guess I was really wrong to trust you all! Cowards, the lot of you!'' she screamed out. Taking out one of the four porcelain figures she had made for them, she smashed it onto the ground, before storming away from the meeting. That's when she learned about this game, called Sword Art Online; an alternate reality game. This appealed to Min-Hye, whom completely ignored her friends and suffered more to the people tormenting her, each day. So gathering all of the allowance she could, she went out and bought the game and the system. She waited for the servers to be online, excited. And then she managed to log in; it was the happiest day in her life. She gleefully learned the system, and understood how things worked; she didn't even notice the lack of a log out button until she was warped into the town square. Learning of Kayaba Akihiko's announcement, the girl felt her face lighten. She was pretty sure nobody heard her scream thank you towards the godling figure; but this man.. he had set her free! Though she realized that, her ailing cousin, which only she cared for, would now live without her.. the guilt of feeling freedom, and of feeling good started to cause a crack in her mind. It began to unwind her from the inside; so she wandered for a while, whilst they cleared the first floor. But now.. now? She was ready. Realizing that her name was perhaps a good thing, she felt.. intensely powerful. She would get up there.. and show the guy that trapped them in here that it was a good gift, to pass through everyone's limits!
That was Min-Hye's collapsing mind's wish.SKILLS

SHADOW FLOWER. polearms
2 Strikes, 1 Specials, 75% Speed, 75% PowerThis Sword Art is unqiue; glowing with an almost black green aura, thus making it most efficient to use in dark places. Thanatos must swing the scythe in a slash motion in one direction. Once this is done, the second strike kicks in like a pendulum, sending the weapon in the same direction but in reverse. This gives her flexibility on the initial slash, but not on the second. She can move forward in between the first and second strikes if needed. Both strikes have a Knockback effect on contact, but this effect only activates once; therefore if she hits with the first strike, and then the second, Knockback will only trigger on the first.
DARK EMBRACE. polearms
1 Strikes, 1 Specials, 100% Speed, 100% PowerThis Sword art glows with an almost black, dark green colour. The user moves in for a strike, using an average level of speed and power. The sword art itself is just a slash in any direction; however, the slash may target group monsters, hitting up to three monsters at once in its current state. This sword art is best used whilst dashing or some other form of movement.<<Takanashi Yomi/Dead Master from Black Rock Shooter as Heo Min-hye>><<character by Thanatos Nyx>><<profile template by bunny>>
