DJMCLOUD<<NAME>>Tobias Hawke<<AGE>>16<<GENDER>>Male<<NATIONALITY>>Japan<<APPEARANCE>>This is Tobias<<PERSONALITY>>Positive
Chivalrous: Tobias is more than willing to help anyone he sees that needs it despite his many many flaws and shortcomings, he also makes sure to take special care of special classes such as women and children, however this also applies to NPCs and has gotten him into trouble for his dumb but heroic efforts before.
Strategist: He works well with numbers and theories, despite not working as well with real life situations, he has good planning skills but is very grateful that when it comes to heavy fighting the system will take over the more complicated moves that he could never do on his own.
Optimistic: No matter the situation, Tobias will try to look on the bright side, this comes from his particularly dim childhood though seeing things as better than they are can cross wires with his naivety as well.
Thrifty: Because of his poor economic status growing up, he cannot stand to throw anything away and will try to find a use and make the most of anything he can find from gold to rat tails, this translates into his game playing with the “but I might need it later” reflex that ensures he may have just what he needs for an occasion but he may also have five things he doesn’t.
Sensitive: Overall Tobias is a very kind person and tries to be emotionally sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, tying together with his observational personal skills he can understand other people quite well even if he doesn’t always show it or isn’t very eager to act on that understanding.
Negative
Moody: The boy has a rather reflective introverted streak that can come off as typical teenage moodiness, this introspection can cloud his judgment or put a downward spin on his normally optimistic behavior, resulting in bad decisions or inaction when the opposite course needs to be taken.
Naïve: The downside to his optimism is that it blinds him to many of the harsh truths about the world such as being forced to play a video game or die, he instead sees new opportunities and is easily taken advantage of for it by the more street-smart people who deal with him who are not afraid to be somewhat cynical about the world around them and see it’s not one big adventure like he tries to convince himself.
Wallflower: Despite understanding people quite well, Tobias has poor social skills and is usually not the first to initiate social interaction with others unless there is something at stake or he knows them well. Even with long-time friends he may not be able to find the words to hold a moderate conversation or may not speak up when he needs his voice to be heard.
Packrat: Again, the downside of his thriftiness is that his inventory is constantly clogged with everything he can carry, though somehow organized into some way that makes sense only to him, it still causes bad habits and can encumber him when he needs something specific instead of the twenty other things he’s carrying around. In-game this means that it may take him a while to find an item he’s looking for so don’t trust him with potions if you can help it.
Effeminate: Part of his sensitivity also draws on a certain feminine air about the boy that translates to getting along better with women than he does with men despite being shy and a wallflower so not having much luck with women. This also means that he is not very good at typical “manly” behaviors such as fighting face-to-face with no tricks, getting down in dirty or doing heavy repairs, while he may give these things a try he is not likely very good at them and is best suited to clothing repair, nimble movements and housework.

Guns<<HISTORY>>Toby’s parents met in Europe and moved to Japan before he was born for his mother’s prestigious business work. Tobias grew up in a lower-middle class family in a poor neighborhood with his father and older sister Rachel. His mother was diagnosed with a mental illness akin to anxiety when Tobias was three and his father was borderline abusive due to the strain and resentment caused by having to take care of the two children alone in their economic condition. His sister made life bearable for him by telling him stories of the Feudal era, tales of great heroics and chivalry, of noble samurai and knights (depending on the country she was talking about at the time) for whom glory and benevolence was a main aim and for whom riches seemingly could be won at the tip of a sword with skill and hard work. He sympathized with these stories and used to dream of being a noble warrior himself so he could at least pretend he had a way of escaping the near-poverty that they constantly lived on the edge of. These stories and dreams fueled the optimism that bubbled in the young boy, little did he know that his hopes and dreams would come true in the darkest way possible.
His sister Rachel went to work as soon as she could during her teenage years to try and make the two independent from their father, and the two remained close even as Tobias joined her in the working world in his early teens. His relationship with his father had embittered him towards men and he continued to adore his sister, creating a strong sense of chivalry within the teenager as he continued to mature. On his sixteenth birthday through a stroke of luck or fate or possibly guided misfortune, Rachel managed to snag a relatively new Nerve Gear system from a particularly irate internet video game critic off a bidding website. She got it for cheap because of the small library of games and the critic’s general anger at the lack of ‘hardcore’ gaming and gave it to Tobias as a birthday present. The boy enjoyed the selection of educational mental challenges, hoping to train his mind well to get into a good school to get a good job and pay back Rachel for all her help over the years and make her fairy tale stories a reality. However a few days after he received it, the first VRMMO was announced in his area, that critic was surely eating his hat now and there was no way Tobias was going to miss out on this.
On launch day, after a careful decision, Tobias decided to use a female avatar for some new experiences, it matched his personality better and it would be a fresh adventure. During normal play he quite enjoyed the female body, subconsciously free from the guilt of possibly ending up like his abusive father because he was a man and after he got over the messages from trolls for naked pictures and cybering requests he had quite a bit of fun. However this was all stripped away when he looked in the mirror during the revealing of the game’s true purpose, he had to deal with who he was again, had to share a gender with the father he hated, share a face that looked so much like a younger version of his. His escapism came crashing down though he was not as distressed as some by the notification that they were locked in the game with the chance of death. The way he saw it death was always possible and it was better to go in an exciting way, it would make a much better story at the pearly gates to go down fighting a giant rat-lizard man then to get hit by a car. He had conflicted feelings as the days wore on and he began to get used to his surroundings, preferring to avoid fighting at first. On the one hand he was finally living one of the fairy tales his sister told him about where riches and glory could be won through strength and skill, on the other hand he was unable to see her, his dreams of getting into a good school for her benefit were derailed and possibly destroyed. She was what made his life worth sticking through, there was nothing he would miss about it besides her. If wasn’t for her he might have stayed in the game intentionally, however for now he decided to just live and what happened, grow stronger and learn. He almost liked the virtual world better than the rule world and almost regretted the idea that one day someone would likely beat the game and he’d be stuck back where he was as a street rat. With these thoughts in mind, part blind optimism from the fairy tales of his youth, part regretful loss over his sister, part introspective guilt over his father, he ventured into the world of Sword Art Online.SKILLS
